This page explains how to delete your Ómra Creative account, what happens to your information when you do, and the limited records we are legally required to keep. It applies to our website omracreative.ie and to the Ómra Creative apps for iOS and Android.

You can delete your account yourself at any time. You do not need to ask us first, and there is no waiting period.

Before you delete: store credit is forfeited

If you hold any gift credit or store credit, deleting your account cancels the remaining balance and it cannot be restored afterwards. If you have credit you want to use, spend it before you delete. If you are not sure what your balance is, check My Account or email us and we will tell you.

How to delete your account

In the Android app

  • Open the Account tab and scroll to the bottom.
  • Tap Delete Account.
  • Confirm when asked.

The same option is also under SettingsAccountDelete account.

In the iOS app

  • Open the Account tab, tap My Account, and scroll to the bottom.
  • Tap Delete Account.
  • Confirm when asked, then confirm it is you with Face ID or Touch ID.

On the website

If you cannot sign in

Email [email protected] from the email address on the account and ask us to delete it. We will confirm it is you, action the request, and email you when it is done. We aim to do this within a few days and always within one month, as required by GDPR.

What is deleted

Deleting your account is immediate and permanent. It cannot be undone, and we cannot recover the account afterwards. The following are erased:

  • Your account and sign-in details, including your name, email address, phone number, saved addresses and your password.
  • Your Ómra Rewards points, level, achievements and history.
  • Your wishlist.
  • Your support conversations and any photos you attached to them.
  • Your notifications and the push tokens for your devices, so your phone stops receiving notifications from us.
  • Any back-in-stock alerts you signed up for, so we stop emailing you about them.
  • Your saved preferences, including your date of birth if you added one, your notification settings and your content preferences.
  • Your remaining store credit balance, as described above.
  • Your votes and reports on reviews and help articles, your votes on ideas in the Suggestions board, and the list of ideas you follow.
  • The record of searches you made while signed in to our website or apps.

Anything held only on your own device, such as your recent searches and cached images, is removed when you uninstall the app.

What we keep, and why

A small amount of information has to survive the deletion, either because the law requires it or because erasing it would take something away from another customer. In every case your name is removed and the record can no longer be traced back to you.

  • Order and transaction records – kept for 6 years. Irish tax and accounting law requires us to keep records of sales. Your past orders remain in our system but the customer on them is renamed to “Deleted user” and is no longer linked to any account.
  • Product reviews you wrote – kept, anonymously. The rating and words stay published so other shoppers still see an accurate picture of the product, but the review is permanently unlinked from you and shows as “Ómra customer”. If you would rather your reviews were removed entirely, email us before you delete and we will take them down.
  • Ideas and comments you posted on our Suggestions board – kept, anonymously. They stay on the Ideas Board so the votes and comments other customers added are not lost, but they are permanently unlinked from you and show as “Anonymous”. If you would rather they were removed entirely, email us before you delete and we will take them down.
  • The store credit ledger – kept, anonymously. We keep a record that credit was issued and spent, as part of the same financial trail as orders. It is no longer connected to any person, and no usable balance survives.
  • Gift credit somebody else bought for you and you never claimed. If a friend or relative bought you credit that is still unclaimed, that record stays so they are not left out of pocket. It holds the email address the gift was addressed to. Tell us if you would like it cancelled instead and we will refund the person who bought it.

Your other rights

Deleting your account is not your only option. You can also ask us for a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop using it for a particular purpose, without closing your account. Email [email protected] and we will help.
